During this two-day validation crash course we will show you how to make innovation actionable, by taking you through the entire validation process. We will start with the assumption and what it entails. You will learn to identify it, rank it and translate it to a hypothesis. You will become a master at going from a hypothesis to an experiment plus designing and executing that experiment afterwards.

Choosing a focus

It is imperative to focus on what’s important: the problem. What is the problem that you are solving? Which are the customer pains that you are relieving? This creates value.

From assumption to hypothesis to experiment

Using the desirability, viability and feasibility lens allows you to create assumptions from your ideas, which you will then rank based on risk. The riskiest assumption will be translated into a hypothesis, a measurable statement and eventually, an experimental outcome.

Running SCRUMs & sprints

Running scrums (not the rugby ones) allows you to break up large projects into smaller, stand-alone tasks that each have value for the customer. This means working in two-week sprints with deliverables at the end of each sprint.

Experiment Stacking

See the value in stringing together multiple experiments instead of one. We believe that business decisions can’t be made based on one, lonely experiment. It’s the sequence of experiments that gives us the confidence to say that a hypothesis is validated. Confidence is key!

Validation starts with the idea or innovation challenge, which is then dissected based on the 3 innovation lenses: Desirability, viability and feasibility. Dissecting means creating assumptions from the idea, which are then ranked based on risk. The riskiest assumption is then translated into a hypothesis, a measurable statement and an experimental outcome. It is the process of going from an idea, all the way to an experiment to validate or invalidate the hypothesis that came out of your idea.
